How To Merge

There are five different ways to find people to merge. Once you identify two individuals to merge, you always are sent to the review screen. The individual on the left always will have a lower ID and was created first. This is the record that will be kept. After clicking Merge, specified changes are copied from the person on the right to the person to the left and then the person on the right is deleted.

The Main List
If you click on the Merge button in the top menu you will see a list of individuals that have been matched. There are two ways people show up in this list:
- Matched Spouse, Parent, or Children
- Matching Engine
Merging Children
When viewing a family, you can click on two children and then click Merge.
Merging Spouses
When viewing a family, you can click on two marriages to merge the spouses (and their children).
Merging with Search
When searching, you can choose two individuals to merge.
Merging Individuals
When viewing an individual's page, there will appear a list of people with similar names. You have to option to either view or merge these individuals.
